Ministry of Water and Sanitation Principal Secretary, Joseph W. Irungu on the 15th & 16th of August 2019, commissioned Water Supply Projects in Kisumu and Siaya Counties. The PS presided over the commissioning of St. Elizabeth Massuun Ulaga School Borehole Water Supply which targets to benefit over 2500 persons through water kiosks and individual connections. In addition, 1000 persons are also set to benefit from Raduodi Primary School Borehole Water Supply. These two projects are located in Siaya County in kisumu county, Pedo Primary School Borehole Water Supply was also commissioned in Nyakach constituency.
The National Government through the water for schools programme under the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, funds projects to offer quality water supply and improve sanitation among the local communities. The PS said the ministry has put in place interventions to improve water coverage in the county. He was accompanied by Area Leadership of both counties, Water Secretary Eng. S.A.O Alima, LVSWWDA Ag. CEO Eng. Daniel Oronje, Board Chairman Hon. Paul Bii, WaterFund Chairman Patrick Kokonya, RVWWDA Chairman Hon. Asman Kamama and CEO Eng. Hosea Wendot and NWHSA CEO Eng. Sammy Mburu.
