Mr. Erick Okeyo, MBS, MKIM recently undertook a comprehensive orientation tour of water projects being undertaken by the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority in Turkana County. During the tour, where he was accompanied by Management and Staff of the Authority, he met various stakeholders who appreciated the extent of the works by the organization. NWHSA has embarked on emergency flood control intervention works in various parts of the country in anticipation of longs rains between April and May. Phase one of the Sintaan flood control works located in Sintaan Ng’ambo village, Marigat sub-location in Baringo South is now complete. This involved the construction of 110 m gabion boxes, river training and dredging, and bush clearing along river Perkerra.Read more...

Chemususu Dam is located on the Chemususu river which is a tributary of Tigiri river some 17kms to the west of Eldama Ravine town in Koibatek District. The Dam supplies water to Eldama Ravine Township and its environs. This is a 45m high dam with storage of about 12Mm3 of water capable of producing 35,000m3/day of water to supply Eldama Ravine Township and its environs.
