The Chairman of the National Water Harvesting & Storage Authority Board on Friday last week accompanied the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Mr. Joseph W. Irungu, CBS as he inspected water projects in Muranga County.
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chairman also used this opportunity to donate a handful of water harvesting tanks as well as hand washing tanks in line with supporting the authority’s water harvesting strategies.
Some of the projects toured and inspected included Ng’araria Irrigation, Muiri-Ini Water Project, Muruka Water Pipeline Reticulation, Muthithi Water Project, Githima, Gachocho Water Project and Makomboki Borehole that is expected to benefit about 4,000 people.
The area MP Hon. Ruth Wangari Mwaniki for Kigumo and MCAs were present during the occasion. Residents who were part of the entourage were given food stuff by the PS and water tanks donated by the National Water Harvesting & Storage Authority.
